What Really Tough Financial Years Reveal — That Calm Ones Don’t

Yes, it’s true that every entrepreneur thinks about planning → goals → pricing → sales. But there are certain moments in the year when that thinking intensifies — when you feel the urgency to make decisions that actually move the needle.

December is one of those moments.

It’s one of the reasons that, for the last several years, I’ve hosted a 2-day guided “year-end review and planning for the new year” session for my coaching clients who own a business.

Sure, it’s important to note what made folks proud and to celebrate their wins. But it’s equally important to acknowledge the challenges — and what went sideways.

And this year?

First…

Everyone’s business took a financial hit in 2025.

Even if someone managed to eke out a profit, the amount was off compared to years past.

For many people, 2025 was a financially disorienting year — revenue dips, rising costs, economic uncertainty, and shifting client and industry behavior.

But hidden inside tough financial years are insights — about your business model, your demand patterns, and how you price.

Most of us only notice these insights when the pressure forces them to the surface.

Second…

Everyone is exhausted.

And yet, everyone remains hopeful!

No one is making plans to close up shop.

Reimagine things? Yes.

Create new offers? Tweak existing ones?

Revisit their offer portfolio? Revisit their pricing?

Absolutely.

When I ended the Zoom call, the word that immediately came to mind:

Recalibration

Recalibration happens whenever clarity meets reality — and something inside says, “This needs to change.”

All of us are recalibrating.

And not just those of us on that call.

You’re likely recalibrating, too — because it’s what naturally happens when you pause, reflect, and use the lessons learned to orchestrate your next moves.

Years like 2025 expose things we often can’t see in calmer times — hidden bottlenecks, misaligned offers, outdated pricing strategies, or capacity issues we’ve quietly pushed aside.

And when everything feels tight?

Pricing becomes less about numbers…and more about clarity, coherence, and alignment.

If 2025 made anything clear, it’s this:

How you price in 2026 can’t be random, reactive, or based on what used to work.

Your pricing needs to reflect what you uniquely bring to your work, your capacity, your demand, and the life you want to live.

This is your moment of empowered recalibration — and pricing clarity is one of the strongest leverage points you have heading into the new year.

It’s one of the many reasons why I’m so excited to announce what I’ve been quietly working on these last few months.

It’s part of my own recalibration.

And if pricing is one of the areas you’re recalibrating — whether because this year stretched you thin, or because next year demands a new level of intention and strategy — I created something to support you.

Allow me to introduce you to Pricing with Clarity: The Offer Portfolio Blueprint™ Audio Guide — a short, powerful audio series designed to help you see the structure of your business more clearly so you can make smarter, more confident pricing decisions.

Contrary to what many believe, most pricing confusion isn’t actually about the price.

It’s about everything behind the price.

  • Your offers.

  • Your capacity.

  • Your revenue mix.

  • Your time.

  • Your energy.

  • Your goals.

  • Your evolving desires.

In other words…

Pricing is downstream of structure.

Yet most people approach pricing as if it lives in isolation — as if it’s just a number you’re supposed to “figure out,” based on instinct, comparison, or pressure.

But prices don’t float in the air.

They live inside the architecture of your business.

And that’s why pricing clarity requires portfolio clarity.

Not just:“What do you charge?”

But:

  • What do you offer?

  • To whom?

  • In what mix?

  • With what capacity?

  • And in service of what kind of business — and life?

As you wrap up the year, take a moment to look at your offers, your revenue patterns, and your pricing with fresh eyes. What story did 2025 tell you? And what do you want 2026 to feel like?

I invite you to let the Pricing with Clarity: The Offer Portfolio Blueprint™ Audio Guide be your companion.

I’d love to be in your ear, guiding you along the way — helping you see your pricing patterns, your strengths, and your vulnerabilities. So you can truly understand what’s happening in your business…

and what your next best move is — for your offers and your pricing.
