$5.8 Billion and the Chance to be Someone Else

According to the 2010 National Retail Federation Survey, $5.8 billion will spent on Halloween related activities (costumes, candy, decorations, etc.) this year. Wow!!!

We all do things to occasionally create a break from reality, especially when aspects of it are painful for us. But seeing the cumulative number for what amounts to a 24-hour reprieve from our day-to-day is startling to me.

I’m not judging, just observing and curious about your reaction to $5.8 billion. Your thoughts?
