Whew…what a week! It’s been a surreal six days for those of us on the East Coast, to say the least. And now that I am coming out of my Hurricane Sandy stupor, I just wanted to check-in and see how you are doing. I hope this post finds you well – safe, sound, and dry!

I live in New York City – Park Slope, Brooklyn to be exact. And I am one of the very, very fortunate ones. I never lost power, and I always had running and drinkable water…and heat! As I listen to or watch updates on Hurricane Sandy’s aftermath, I am reminded of just how sweet it is to have life’s basics. They truly never felt so good, or precious!

For others, the basics were literally swept away within minutes. My heart goes out to those who lost loved ones; who lost homes that were the source of so much joy; and who lost businesses that served their families and their communities. If this is you or someone you know, please email me your/their name. I am running a 5K in Prospect Park tomorrow (Saturday, 11/3) to raise money to repair damage in my neighborhood due to Hurricane Sandy, and I would also love to dedicate the run to you or those who are special to you.

Take very good care of yourself and those close to you!
